A few thanksgivings ago I tried to place a couple of scarecrows on my front garden, but I had a problem; I lacked support of where to attach my Holiday props from.

At first, I tried to do the obvious which was trying to dig on my front garden and stick my scarecrows in, but in order to do that I needed to dig a pretty profound hole, this will require a lot of work and will disrupt my front garden.
My second attempt was to tie the scarecrows to my palm trees, the result didn’t look so good due that you were able to see a bunch of string lines around the palm trees behind the scarecrows and also you could only place the scarecrows only where I have palm trees or other type of trees.
Since I wanted to be able to set my scarecrows at any location I wanted and have a clean look at the same time, I decided to build a stand frame, secure it to the ground and secure the scarecrows to the stand afterwards.
How to secure my home decorations?

Here is the stand I built to achieve the desired result, I used a 1×4 wood plank for the front base board and the rest of the 1×2 boards are joined with self tapping screws. Note that I made all of the reinforcement boards to make a solid stand so the decoys won’t lean or wobble, I also drilled 3 holes in the bottom boards which I will use to drive in anchors to secure the stand to my front yard.
Before securing the frame stand on the ground, I attached the scarecrows to the vertical supports using these cable sections, now stand is ready to be secured to the ground. I used the 5/16″ holes to insert a lawn stake/nail. I’ve used these before in other times I needed to anchor items to the soil.
