On this post I’ll show you the technique I use every time in order to cut wood boards more accurate, by using this technique you could get cut dimensions at +- .030″ this equals to half of one sixteen of an inch!

How to cut wood cleanly?

The miter saw is a 12 in. Double-Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw With Laser Guide System, I’ve been able to cut 12″ wide boards using this saw without any issue. At first, I was a little skeptical about this brand but for the price you get a great and durable miter saw size packed with great features.

OK, going back to our cutting technique what you need to do is to make your cutting marks wider. Make fat cutting marks after your needed dimension, make sure your marks are at least 1/16″ thick although making them 1″8 wide would be ideal.

Place your wood board on your miter saw, lower the miter saw arm without cutting yet. We are aligning the inner edge of the blade to align with the edge of our cutting mark. Once it looks right on the edge let’s cut and see our results.

Here I am using digital calipers to get an exact dimension on our cut length by using this technique. Our wood board length resulted in 4.009″. By using this approach, you will get more exact dimensions and your wood projects will fit much better, this technique can also be used using a miter saw, circular saw or any other manual saw type!

How can I make my wood cut more accurate?

There are a few different ways that you can make your wood cuts more accurate. One way is to use a guide. This can be a piece of wood that is the same size as the piece you are cutting, or it can be a straight edge. If you are using a guide, you will need to clamp it in place before you start cutting.

Another way to make your wood cuts more accurate is to use a saw guide. This is a tool that attaches to your saw and helps you to make straight cuts.

You can also make your wood cuts more accurate by using a drill guide. This is a tool that helps you to drill straight holes.

Finally, you can make your wood cuts more accurate by using a miter gauge. This is a tool that helps you to make angled cuts.

How to do precision cuts?

Precision cuts are cuts that are made with a high degree of accuracy. They are used in a variety of applications, including woodworking, metalworking, and fabricating. There are a number of ways to achieve precision cuts, and the most appropriate method depends on the material being cut and the equipment available.

One common method for making precision cuts is using a jigsaw. Jigsaws are handheld tools that use a reciprocating saw blade to make cuts in a variety of materials. The blade is attached to a motor that moves it up and down, allowing it to cut in both directions. Jigsaws are often used to cut curves and intricate shapes in wood and metal.

Another common method for making precision cuts is using a band saw. Band saws are similar to jigsaws, but they use a continuous band of metal to cut materials. This allows them to cut through thicker materials than jigsaws. Band saws are often used to cut metal, although they can also be used to cut wood and other materials.

A third common method for making precision cuts is using a scroll saw. Scroll saws are similar to band saws, but they have a smaller blade that allows them to make more intricate cuts. Scroll saws are often used to cut wood, although they can also be used to cut other materials.

In addition to the methods mentioned above, there are a number of other ways to make precision cuts. Some of these methods include using a router, a table saw, or a laser cutter. The most appropriate method for making precision cuts depends on the specific application and the equipment available.
